New Audiocast -> Qualitative Evidence in Practice: Appraising Evidence Developed Using Qualitative Inquiry

audiocasts

Here is a pretty new audiocast we recorded on March 8, 2007 as a part of the BC RSRnet Evidence Based practice series. This is session #5.

The session is presented by Dr. Judith Lynam, from UBC School of Nursing, who is Co-Director of Culture, Gender & Health Research Unit.

Not being a particularly ardent devotee of Qualitative research, I have to admit that this session is really engaging, and gives lots of good insight! Maybe because it is presented by a nursing professor (with me having a huge respect for this profession - well...I should - my wife - Elina Barsky is a nurse :)

You can access this particular session here - http://hdl.handle.net/2429/100

Alternatively, you can access all UBC Barber Learning Centre audiocasts this way:

UBC Master of Physical Therapy graduating students’ systematic reviews – Podcasts

podcasting dog

For the first time in UBC Rehab School, the graduating class of Master of Physical Therapy students has compiled systematic reviews of literature on eight (8) different topics in physiotherapy.

On Sep. 14-15, 2006, those systematic reviews were presented in Vancouver, BC for a wide audience of physiotherapists.

We, at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre at UBC, have recorded those as audio files and now are ready to share them with you. This is a collaboration mini-project with the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia and The School of Rehabilitation Sciences , UBC and the UBC Library

Here, you will find all eight presentations (both PDF versions of the presentations themselves and audio files in mp3 format of their talks). Here is an alternative location– http://tinyurl.com/pzdqd

As far as I know, those are among the first podcasts in physiotherapy!

Podcasts of the UBC's Master of Physical Therapy students' Systematic Review Presentations– Sep. 2006

podcast

As some of you may already know UBC’s MPT students are presenting their systematic reviews reports in mid-September.

This year, we are planning to record the audio streams of the presentations (only for the teams that agree to do that, of course) and make audio (mp3) files of these presentations available to anyone to download and listen on the go (podcasts...).

Then, we are also planning to take the text versions of the presentations and upload these into a searchable system inside the institutional repository at UBC to create a fully searchable database of students systematic reviews with audio components – podcasts. However, we believe that this part would take us more time, as this might be a pilot project for the UBC institutional repository.

Here is the list of the presentations to be presented at the Vancouver’s GF Strong site on September 14-15, 2006:
